SG Monday

Started playing early but this SG required some looking into.

Left this aside for a while. Slight neck bow occured & I'm still trying to figure out what happened considering it's not exposed to drastic temperature changes. Then again, the weather had been erratic lately. I'm also tired of dealing with Gibson tools that came default with the instrument; these rust very quickly so the multi-tool you see there was a separate acquisition. I also noticed the pickups like lowered itself into the cavity, geez... So that was taken care rather quickly.

Between SG & Les Paul, I favour the former not because it's a 'better' instrument but it fits my handling quirks. Being someone too accustomed to an Ibanez, the SG's double cutaway suit me better.

Multi-colours

I think we'd noticed that if a product is enjoying some degree of commercial success, variations of it would be manifested & people will buy the same thing in different guises. Les Pauls & Strats are easy references. Ibanez did likewise with its multi-tool. Among the new finishes offered - faux leather, faux carbon fibre & everyone's favourite colour - pink.

Tool

This is a $20 consideration- having an all-in-one tool with you when you are out & about or just making do with the loose default ones that came with the instrument upon purchase. I've been using it for about a week now & found that I used some of the components more than the rest (more on this soon).

Multi-tasking

Ibanez MTZ11 is a handy multi-tool for guitar players. The idea isn't new. There was a time when every Fender Japan purchase came with such a complementary multi-tool. There is a similar multi-tool sold at budget stores but it serves a general need, the components do not address a guitar emergency specifically. Also, the material isn't as durable, some features are too soft for repeated hardware tinkering. The Ibanez MTZ11 is now available at Swee Lee (List: $19.99).

Multi-tool

If you purchase an Ibanez Premium model, a multi-tool is included in the purchase as documented in the booklet above. I've talked to people who bought an Ibanez Premium guitar missing this accessory till its time to tweak the instrument then it dawned on them something's omitted . If it is not included in the purchase, do ask the seller/ dealer why this is so; there must be a reason... If they offer you an alternative, it's a reasonable consolation, otherwise, you might want them to discount the purchase price a tad. That's fair isn't it?
