Bought a small practice amp; Marshall's MG10...Replaced the 2-pin plug to the 3-pin version.

you did mention on your older post - 'amplifier before pickups' in getting a great sound. my question is, how big the amp is too consider it is not a practice amp? thanks....
the low wattage units, which feature a smaller driver & bare minimum features are the ones not doing justice to one's tone. to begin with, but not the rule of thumb, consider an amp with a 12" driver on board.
