Basswood speaks

Ha! Guthrie Govan's latest signature Suhr guitar features a basswood body- there are many people out there who are very dismissive when it comes to all things basswood; they don't vene want to listen when you mention this wood type.

I asked someone before the same qn. He said tat it's because basswood is featured more on the lower tier guitars like squiers while Fender feature other types of wood like alder. So since it's featured on the low-end guitars, it is lousy. (which is a fallacy). Shd have asked him what about ibanez.

in Fender's case, they are propelling single coil tones more than anything else so the wood type used have to complement this consideration.
