Yamaha: RGX A2

My new guitar is Yamaha's RGX A2- one slick player, this one. It's a very light weight instrument as it features the manufacturer's patented AIR technology; Alternative Internal Resonance (more on this soon). I would say it's virtually a hollow body majority featuring no F-holes.

Over at he flip-side, the cavities are kept minimal. It features a battery compartment for the switching system & the electronics are 100% passive. It's not quite apparent here but the RGX A2's rear surface is a very subtle curved top hence eliminating the need for a rib-cage bevel.

To be continued...

it's the barrel-type tuner, Jackson had it in their Roswell Rhoads model- the reason why bro Ijau thought it was a Jackson. it's very quirky but i'm alright with it because it works. if it's all hype but dysfunctional, it'll be a NO from me... :-)

I think Yamaha guitars are sometimes very under-rated by people.

This is a very good player indeed.

What type of wood that possible used in yamaha rgx a2? Coz i weight that guitar feels like a toy weight for me. Another thought it is a chambered style guitar with both top and back glued together with middle wood.

Interestingly, Yamaha did not disclose the wood type here. Regardless of this consideration, even if dense wood was used, it's offset by the manufacturer's AIR technology that intends the guitar to be light-weight- it's all about the intention.

I feel that names like Yamaha are often patronized should they engage in a bolder, or 'different' take on the current state of affairs in the industry but I applaud them for their spirit of innovation.
