Still on the LTD front - acoustic. So you wish to try a 'different' acoustic while still on a budget. You are not interested in Squier, Epiphone or the entry level Ibanez ones. Do give this LTD D-100 (List: $325) a go. The standard here is comparable to the Takamine ones in the same price range. This D-100 is full-sounding despite that cutaway. Available at Davis GMC.
