Variation of a theme - Fender Japan has a sandblast finish Strat in its Hybrid II series. More accurately, sandblasting is a process, not a finish type per se. What you see here is a natural finished ash body, given the sandblast treatment. A Tele & Jazz bass are the other members in this sandblasted affair.

Intersting! I've not seen too many sandblasted finishes over the years, and when I have, it has been Fenders that were limited run exclusives through Sweetwater. Short of a texture and look, is there any sort of advantage to it for the wood as it ages? I suppose it depends what finish there is on it for that as well, but would be curious if there are purposes for it from a functionality standpoint. Plenty of natural guitars on the market, but sandblasted natural is...interesting to say the least. I dig the look, and am always here for new things!
