Gibson Singapore ...

This is taken off the Gibson Singapore FB wall. Apparently, there is a unifying banner in cyberdom to fortify the Gibson name in this country. What used to be a simple distributorship under Swee Lee is now a band of commercial entities distributing the various Gibson brands. Sad to say that none of the stores listed here has a full or near catalog-worthy line up of guitars on offer so certain segments of the guitar community are not being attended to. I'm calling out Cristofori as being the worst on this list in terms of product availability. I would reserve further comments in the hope that the good people at Cristofori might be suffering from delayed shipment & other unforeseen circumstances that are threatening their distributorship goodwill. Hopefully.

Tone Technik is distributing this brand here. Not easily accessible in terms of location...

Well, coming from a background of selling guitars (including Gibson among others) for 25 years managing a music store that was primarily a guitar store, the fact is that in general 10% of a guitar company's line up (especially with legacy companies like Gibson) produce 90% of sales so expecting a dealer who wishes to remain actually profitable and not have all their resources tied up in slow selling or unsellable merchandise to stock a "full line" is wishful thinking. Even today, only a very few "mega outlet stores" like Sweetwater etc. (or your own Swee Lee) have the financial luxury of subsidizing even close to that kind of offering. And in your case, Gibson (out of spite-something Gibson is notorious for these days) kicked the one dealer in your region who had the ability to do that to the curb.

Not asking for a full-fledge inventory, representations of the existing tiers would do. Half of the back story here is that dealers are not interested to bring in the less celebrated models, giving priority instead to models preferred by close friends / contacts. Others are part-music schools that continue to prioritize their main bread & butter. The wisdom here is definitely having a single dealer / distributor for the brand but as correctly pointed out, nobody here could flex that kind of financial muscle. Don't see any kicking out but pride injury resulting in severance.
