70th Antigua

Fender is releasing a slew of 70th Anniversary Strats, this is the only one that got my attention. I have always liked the Antigua finish & this one is a fixed bridge model so it's totally my thing. The price, however, is a deal breaker: USD1,499 (Mexican, Vintera II Series).

Hard choice

This is Fender's limited run Vintera '70s hardtail Strat. I love everything about it, less the price: $1,899. They don't make too many hardtail Strats these days so this is something to be treasured. I'm still unable to reconcile certain price points with the country of manufacturer. I do not doubt the quality, it's about costs & prices. Then again, manufacturers will ride on stuff like limited run, to hike prices & we would fall for it.

Fender: Vintage hardtail

My kind of Fender- for 2015, it's an American Vintage hardtail model. Pretty much for those of us who don't whammy but the fact that it's from the American Vintage series, the price would be substantial but I don't mind paying for a Strat which isn't rear-routed; more wood :-)

Ibanez 2009: JEM non-whammy

Don't rub your eyes, this might be (one of) the new JEM 2009 models- it's a hard tail (non-whammy). As it is, the debut of this model is still unconfirmed (as per Paul Gilbert's reverse Iceman model).
