As suspected, Ibanez has more in store from its higher tier models but these are not for release in the mean time. Winter NAMM 2024 showcases this pair of Pat Metheny models with a single Charlie Christian pickup but cleverly labelled as prototype. There are more, of course.

Ability & sweat

Very inspired by this quote today. How many times do we see talent go to waste because of its lazy owner? I'm telling myself, in today's rat race, the smarter rats will leverage on talent over time. That comes with much sweat for sure, peppered with resilience at times. It applies to non-talent inclined industry as well with an emphasis on niche capacity. Most of the time, organizations with niche excellence tend to get lazy because nobody else is running the race with them. One fine day, should an alternative surface, offering better all round performance, then our existence will be under threat. We should not be lulled into fulfilment because we know not what lies ahead. It's no longer enough to be talented, we should be proving our worth at all times. 

Ibanez: PM35

This 2008, jazz titan Pat Metheny has an affordable model for the jazz fledglings who so adore that discontinued single humbucking PM20. The PM35 depicted here is the first Metheny signature model to be made in China by the Artcore Custom handlers; this is a testimony to the good craftsmanship of the Chinese made Artcore hollows which are nothing less than superb. Coming from the master himself, Metheny is indeed impressed with the marked improvements in craftsmanship of the affordable jazz boxes available today.
