SOLAR Sus

If you have been wanting a SOLAR guitar with a Sustainiac system on board + a pickguard, this AP1.6FRG is it. If there's something we noticed about SOLAR guitars, it is the fact that the manufacturer will include features that are popular in other brands. It's not an immediate manifestation but it happens along the way.

Once again, SOLAR would like us to know that this is one of those finished neck that has a satin feel instead of a gloss overcoat.

Solar: Rich sus G

Some new stuff from the Solar camp. This black guitars is the 1.6RHC. It doesn't feature Duncan Solar pickups but in-house Solar Standard Alnico (n) / Killerbucker (b). For many of us who find the Duncan Solar pickups so agreeable with high gain settings, these pickups need to prove themselves as worthy. That fretboard is richlite which is a deal breaker for me.

We would definitely see more models with the non-reverse headstock & this SBR1.6FRSP is one more to the fold. Another model to feature the Sustainiac Stealth Pro pickup in the neck position. The bridge here is a GOTOH GE1996T which is in line with what a Floyd Rose unit is doing but feature a brass block.

Gold & sustain

Some news from the Solar camp. This is the new Marcus Siepen (Blind Guardian) signature model. It's a first in the Type A Series to feature gold hardware.

Sustainiac fans, here's the A1.6FRPM Sustainiac+ featuring the Stealth Pro in the neck position. I respect how the Solar brand is slowly filling up the gaps in their own line up with features that are already in instruments of other brand names. So if you are a Solar loyalist, you need not abandon brand loyalty, chances are, there's an instrument in the Solar line up offering what you want. A very smart commercial move.

Solar sustain

SOLAR guitars are in the Sustainiac game. Selected models now feature a Sustainiac Stealth Pro in the neck position. So for those of us who would be looking forward to some extended wailing, this is a good thing, yes?

Satch-stainiac

This was a recent release (Summer 2017). I think I missed it due to a growing disinterest in Ibanez, have not been checking stuff out. Satch's JS2480 is equipped with a couple of updated features: 1) A Sustainiac Driver (neck) 2) DiMarzio Satchur8 bridge humbucker. It'd be interesting to see how much it would list for considering there's only pickup difference here.

Synyster Custom-S

The new Schecter Synyster Gates Custom-S to appear early 2012, most probably, it'll feature in the Winter Namm line-up. This guitar has a strong following by virtue of its endorser's reputation because we all know that the outline isn't the most conventional & 'attractive'...

The difference in this model is definitely the (Fernandes) Suatainiac system but be informed that you can purchase this separately & have it installed in your guitar.
