Selling: EHX Nano Muff

Ok, so the clearing continues; this time it's my EHX Nano Muff. If you are looking for some fuzzy overtones, the Nano Muff has it. Will it do the real Muff fuzz, you ask? Not quite, I hear a strong drive tone in addition to the fuzzy voicing. The solitary knob there means you can't control the intensity of the drive/fuzz (it's MAXed out) save for the level (that's not quite 'Volume' in its manifestations).

Titanium Rose

Floyd Rose goes one-up by offering its tank-grade bridge in a titanium version (this debuted last year). The material worth aside, we need to listen if there's any tonal difference in view of the material used. The question is, which guitar manufacturer would make this bridge accessible to those of us who wish to try (by incorporating it in their instrument)? Is it practical to purchase it as a replacement item just for the sake of trying? It's not cheap, yes?

The Warzone beckons

Here's good news: The UNO Warzone is back in stock @ SV. Adding to the GAS factor, both Warzone versions are now available, so you can choose what you want to hear; a pair of passive TESLA pickups or actives for an all-out distortion affair. No price differences here, both retail for $790 (each).Do keep this in mind- for this amount of money, you get:

• Above-average QC- I looked & re-looked but the faults were not there for scrutiny. Maybe they are hidden elsewhere. Either way, it's a thumbs-up affair.
• Great playability- very fast neck but not excessively thin. Great upper fret reaches (set neck feature)
• Impressive pickups- The TESLAs are largely overlooked pickups but they deliver likable tones.
• Floyd Rose! Yes, it's not a copy or a licensed reproduction, it's the genuine, impregnable, article. I know what you're whining about- for the same amount of money, you couldn't quite get a guitar equipped with a reputable double locking whammy bridge but here's the Warzone for your considerations.

I gave the WZII another audition yesterday & it was an instant hit for me (again). It's a matter of time...

Artec trio

Am I averse to budget pedals with unknown labels? Definitely not. I'm very happy with my Artec trio, as seen above, which are superb for the money. The Switch Box is particularly interesting. It can be used as an amp selector on days when you want 2 amps going. It also works the other way; 2 guitarists plugging into 1 amp- particularly useful when you are teaching guitar. You shred your parts while your student waits for you to finish & you 'switch' him on. This way, he can't interfere & annoy the daylights out of you.

Applause: Duncan's sealed package

I recently purchased a humbucker from the latest batch of Seymour Duncan pickups to be made available here (@ Davis GMC) & discovered that the manufacturer now seals the action adjustment screws & springs in a small, air-tight plastic sachet. Previously, they were placed loosely at the bottom of the product container, I ever encountered rusty merchandise so this is a great move by Seymour Duncan; they re-evaluated their production practices & gave us quality. Maybe that's why I'm a (big) fan.

Ibanez: TS9B

I've told myself to check this pedal out even if it has very little in store for me- it' meant for bass & has no midrange control. The pedal, as a stand-alone unit, is one of the mildest drive generator out there, it's rather difficult to see how anyone any bass player would resort to it as a firm source of drive. Bass players are also not known to use a booster type drive pedal to kick more drive out of their (tube) amp. In fact, many choose to keep their tones pristine clean for a more commanding bass voicing. 

Regardless if it's conceived to be a very costly paper weight (guaranteed to cause concussion if it kisses your head at high velocity), I find it useful in injecting drive saturation into my already distorted tone- it's just a minimal contribution but it mattered much to me as it heightens my picking sensitivity. Together with its other Tube Screamer siblings here, the TS9B is a useful pedal (to me). I also own:
