Marty Friedman: Bad DNA

There's a reaosn why I make it a point to listen to Marty Friedman- he's playing stuff beyond scales regurgitation & his ideas are whacky. Since his post-Music for Speeding releases, Marty Friedman had moved away from the comfort of having proper musicians backing him up in the studio. I find the techno accompaniments very refreshing, it makes me think of guitar ideas differently. The problem with many of us when it comes to ideas generation is that we keep referring to other guitar music so the scope of our phrasing remains jaded. Bad DNA isn't too different from Tokyo Jukebox but it contains less meloncholic tunes & hey, there's a music video clip in this one showing Marty playing an Explorer-like, single humbucker guitar but the headstock is a sure indicator that it's not a Gibson. Here it is:

the first is a Fernandes Ravelle... is it possible that the other, the explorer-like is stil a Fernandes?
