You want a 7-string, you are on a budget, you want something a little unconventional when it comes to the body outline & good tones are a must for you. You should consider this beast: LTD EX-307. The thing about LTD's 3XX & 4XX series are that they represent value-for-money without being entry-level in feel. The EMGs in there means your distortion wouldn't wimp out for sure.
