Greetings, folks. There is actually a cult following for the above guitar here which I found out recently.
Here's the pink version. The guitar- Charvel's Pro-Mod DK24 2PT.
I stumbled upon this one at Swee Lee's Katong Branch. There was a personal interest back then when Charvel was clearing at awesome prices. I was hoping that more Charvels would make their way here but things went quiet. It's only in 2015/ 2016 that Swee Lee began bringing in new Charvels but not the entire selection was available. Understandably so, the features & prices would be competing with other brand names & for a small market segment here, it's just not worth it.
OK so these are Mexican made but with custom shop-like attributes & treatment worth their asking price. I had a go & noticed that the caramelized maple neck is the attraction. Pickups on board are Seymour Duncans (Full Shred/ 2x Custom Flat). Frets are well dressed & complement the overall neck feel which was kinda addictive. The default action could have been a little lower but that's nothing the user cannot handle post-purchase. The Full Shred humbucker is adept to smooth OD responses, in prog territory if you will. It's also a menacing unit for heavy stuff. I spent the most time in the bridge & neck, testing the middle pickup only for functionality but the single coils here can give you that blues mojo, no issues at all.
At time of writing, Swee Lee had not updated their online store for availability but they are indeed in stock (limited quantities, mind you).
