Today's most explosive news had to be Gibson's acquisition of Mesa/Boogie amps. This would mean that the Gibson distributor now has rights to distribute Mesa amps. This is a positive development because we know the current Mesa dealer here lists the products at cut throat prices. However, we await the final situation as it might be contractual & the change of distributorship won't be an easy switch. Elsewhere in cyberspace, there is a little apprehension as players are wary of the Gibson QC & how it would trickle unto the Mesa bit. Lest we are living in a cave, Gibson had shown improvements since the CEO switch & this is often overlooked by many. I'm not a hardcore Gibson fan but I acknowledge the developments at this end & feel more assured when buying Gibson instruments.
