Fender released the Vintera II Series because they can. I'm really trying to understand why there is a need for a Version II when the initial Venteras were decent enough to represent the Mexican workmanship. Note the price hike with these instruments so it's quite plain to see where Fender is going with this one. Any outstanding features coming from the V2s to the extent that you need to ditch the Mexican you currently own for this one? None. These are marketed as combining vintage & contemporary elements which supposedly add magic to your tone. You want vintage & contemporary mish-mash without forking out crazy money? Squier's Classic Vibe models have loads of those.
