Talk to self

Got this during last year's City Music year-end sale - KORG Monologue. A simple synth with the least number of keys possible to trigger creativity. OK, it's not that that simple as it has sequencing function on board. The intention here is to use this to buffer my understanding of the guitar fretboard. I am the type who employs linear thinking, it's more objective to understand where I am on the fretboard by transposing parts to the keyboard so I can see things in a straight line. Folks, always empower yourself by furthering your abilities, not compete with others & then feeling like crap because you are not up to standard. You do realize you are competing against their standards, yes? That's why you loose.

Season's greetings 2021

I'm so looking forward to this holiday. No, I don't celebrate Xmas but it's a holiday at home. Last Xmas I was alone at the hospital with chemicals pumped into my system; a miserable chemo Xmas, bed-ridden with nothing to look forward to. I didn't switch the TV on, just letting time pass by. Miserable.

So this year, there's a reason to be happy because it's not a chemo Xmas, I'm at home, watching my favourite holiday movies, having family & the cat around; simple reasons to be grateful for. It's when you look back & realize you have overcome some major events in your life & given time & the chance to move on; it's the perfect gift.

Happy holidays, everyone. Stay safe & let's be grateful for any type of gifts that come our way. Some things are meant for us, regardless if we are expecting it or not. They happened for a reason.

Epiphone - Slash 2021

This dropped last week - the new Epiphone Slash 2021 collection. These were made to be close reflections of the Gibson version hence the familiar finishes you see here. I'm not a signature model fan by any means but I choose to see these guitars as good guitars without the exorbitant prices owing to the artist endorsement. These retail for USD899 for all versions including the acoustic selections. That green Anaconda Burst you see there has quite the looks.

V-day 21

It's really depressing when you look forward to a very spiritual occasion but emergency restrictions require you to stay away from it all. I feel for all my buddhist friends who are, for the second time running, observing a muted Vesak Day. More importantly, keep the faith. Happy midweek rest day to the rest.

Year of the Ox

It's that time of the year once more - Wishing all readers a happy Lunar New Year. The ox symbolizes effort & hard work so it might be a laborious turn for some of us this time but it sure beats being all cooped up at home, staying away from the virus & potential infections. The virus is still there, it has not gone away but we are dealing with it better than before. The economy had been hit hard & many of us are hoping for a recovery of any kind to come our way. Have a good one, folks. Be clear of the visitation guidelines, yes?

Welcome - 2021

2021 is here. Whatever happened in 2020, it's over. Let's reflect & move on. It had been a tough one for many of us, tougher for me personally. No use looking back in anger over something you cannot control, we should all be emerging as stronger, more resilient individuals in 2021. I'm grateful to be able to continue this passion despite the cancer bout. Thanks for all your support & patience - the addiction continues.✌🏽
