V-pick: You want one?

Dear valued followers, I have acquired a few V-picks for a good price from BGW Guitars (thank you Mr. Brendon!). I would like you to try the Small Pointed model pictured above (read more about the Small Pointed V-Pick here: CLICK) absolutely at my expense. The first lucky reader who can tell me the name of the V-Pick Inc. founders will receive the Small Pointed V-Pick via post. Please adhere to the following instructions:
  • e-mail your answer to dark1349@hotmail.com before Saturday 12.00 noon, 5th March 2011 according to the time specified by the clock at the foot of this page
  • do NOT include your mailing address until you are declared the winner, I will get back to you for mailing details
  • this contest is open only to Singapore & Malaysian residents only (apologies, but my sponsor is only willing to spare the mailing charges to the aforementioned destinations, in the mean time...)
So the V-pick in the pic above will be yours, less the Care Bear pick holder, of course. Good luck.

PS: The following people are disqualified (he he...) from taking part because I am giving you a complementary copy anyway:
  • Bro Ijau (will notify you once it's on the way)
  • Bro Zahid (will pass to you together with the Morbid Angel tix)
  • Bro Naz (already received yours, yes?)

Ibanez: RG471

My Ibanez RG471AH is finally here; collected it from BGW yesterday. The high standards of Indonesian craftsmanship are all over this guitar so now you understand why the Premium series are made there. I'll have more pics & other comments soon, feeling a little lethargic as the nose is running.

Goodnight, everyone.

Ibanez: RGD321

As mentioned before, my fist guitar for 2011- Ibanez. This is the RGD321, one of the models which are not offered in this region. Thanks to Mr. Brendon of BGW guitars, its acquisition was made possible.

The RGD series is one of the few RG models which doesn't say 'RG Series' at the headstock.
I'm very happy with Ibanez's in-house VK-DT pickups, I have no plans to replace them. I find the RGD321 more attractive, tone-wise, as opposed to my former RGD320 namely due to weight issues (which entail tonal differences). The RGD321 sports the Gibraltar Standard bridge which is hassle free & gives much palm placement comfort. Despite being lethargic, I managed to play this guitar for about 2 hours; it's too distracting to be put away & ignored till later.

PS: Thanks to BGW Guitars for making this acquisition very pleasant & hiccup-free.

Tribute Studio

I'm applauding BGW for giving the Gibson LP Studio (50s Tribute model) a very competitive price tag: $1,360...

Many of us would be enticed by the price per se, we'd be pacified having a guitar with the 'Gibson' name at the headstock & paying >$1k for it. However, assess your needs before you buy this guitar if it's just for the sake of buying- are you agreeable with the P-90 pickups in there? Keep in mind these are single coils.

Thank you BGW Guitars

Dear Mr. Brendon, my friends & I would like to thank you for your kind gesture; we've received your greeting card & the complimentary pack of (Planet Waves) fret polishing cloth. We believe you are a nice person, remembering others during this festive season & it's not just about the business, isn't it? We wish you all the best come 2010! Bye, bye!
