Eid Ulf Fitr 2022

Warmest Eid greetings to all Muslim blog readers. Finally, a breathable Eid after a couple of years under pandemic restrictions. Personally, I can feel the difference this time round, more crowd at festive shopping venues, more preps all round as well. Please forgive all my short-comings & oversights & have a good time with your loved ones,

Aidiladha 2021

By the time you read this, Aidiladha, the day of sacrifice, has closed its chapter. It's a somber eid compounded by the COVID-19 situation & further aggravated by the unforgiving developments in this country of late. As at noon today, the authorities had announced the reversion to no external dine-in & stiff limitations on social gatherings, in view of the escalating number of infections for the past few days or so. The way I see it, the spirit of sacrifice - forgoing current pleasures to acknowledge an emergency - is a lobsided affair here. Then again, I'm not expecting too much from the authorities whose grip of the situation is threatening to jelly.

Regardless of whatever unfolds in the days to come, Eid Mubarak to all Muslims, may our sacrifice be in the good books of the Creator, not under the hankering attention of puny mortals. Onwards!

Eid 21

Blessed greetings of Eid to all. This is my most toned down Eid accounting for my medical condition & the fact that celebrations are restricted by COVID-19 protocols. More importantly, I am grateful for the opportunity to see through another Ramadan despite the ailment - eternally grateful. For the rest of us - enjoy the break.

I am also taking this opportunity to remember the current exacerbated oppression in Palestine & offer prayers for strength & resilience to the resisting forces. Palestinians have cowardly neighbours despite harbouring in common faith. Shame bordering on blasphemy.

Eid 2019

It's been a bumpy ride, nasty bumps mostly. For those of us with seat belts & helmets, we just need to ride it out safely; it's a rite of passage. The rest of us who were thrown off the driver's seat, recover we must. Wishing all a blessed Eid, regardless what it had been, we owe it to ourselves to understand what's in store for us & adapt accordingly.

Eid 2016

Blessed greetings of Eid to all my Muslim friends & readers. Another year had just zipped by. It seems that time is dashing across instead of passing by. We only realize this upon reflecting on our missed opportunities; how we wish we could turn back time. Please forgive all offensive taunts & jests along the way- those were unintentional but I cannot assume everyone out there wouldn't mind. Have a jolly good time with families & friends, everyone- Eid Mubarak!

Eid greetings

Eid-ul-Adha greetings to all Muslim friends & blog readers. It's time to reflect on our sacrifices if we've not done so lately. Part of my great sacrifice is accumulated here in this blog- lots of time & effort to update stuff in the name of awareness (sometimes the entries are too personal- that, I'm aware). Thank you for your support & patience :-)

Eid-ul Adha greetings

An Eid-ul Adha greetings to all Muslim friends & visitors. To the rest of us- it's an extended weekend, a much needed rest awaits.

Salam Eid Ul-Adha

It's that time of year when people of The Faith are reminded of the value of sacrifice; the day when Abraham raised his blades, ready to strike his son only to be replaced with cattle. That readiness to labour for the benefit of others, under Commandment & free from compulsion, is priceless. That readiness should be imbued in us for the assessment of the Creator, not for the benefit of a fellow mortal.

Speaking of sacrifice, I'm assessing how much sacrifice I manifested each month to address my guitar activities. Funds are allocated to necessities only & some apportioned for family leisure, the rest are considerations for gear. There's no compulsion to acquire something new every month, that's not a wise application. I'm doing fine in the mean time, there aren't moments of dire straits or even the need for loans. Yes, there were credit card usages but there were no overdue bills thusfar. So far so good.

Wishing fellow Muslims a meaningful Eid Ul-Adha.
