Ibanez basses @ Summer Namm 2010

Some new basses are also making their appearances @ Summer 2010 NAMM & the above GSR250M bass looks the works.

The SR370 takes what's already established by the SR300 but this time, it's given a maple body treatment. Simply wish the maple fingerboard SRs would make it here...

what's the benefit of having a maple fretboard compared with rosewood or ebony? it is merely cosmetics?

these differences give tonal variation. maple is a close pore wood type, it responds differently compared to rosewood & ebony. maple is also a very dense wood type, adds to mass/ sustain & when this happens, there's an effect on the lower frequencies :-)

plans to acquire an RG with maple fretboard in the near future :)

yeah an RG, no more nonsense extreme-shaped after that VMNTx (and kelly incident)

RG + maple fretboard = limited offerings :-( if there were more, i'd get them all, still love my RG1550... especially if they offer these for the S-series...

yup, hopefully RG350M still available somewhere... if not, maybe going for rosewood RG350DX/RG370DX

it's available here but only the black version, the yellow one was hot. anyway, i feel that the current RG350 has the right body mass & feel to complement the in-house pickups; the guitar sounds & feel on par with the upper end RGs.
