Technical futility

I'm not a Gibson hater; I own 2 LPs & some other LP derivatives. When it comes to Fender & Gibson, the general consensus here is that buyers are more acceptable to the traditional offerings than the models which are equipped with modern implements. Technology embrace is good for us all; it helps us move on with its incorporation into our lives & the tools we work with. However, some of us do not wish to have technology interfere with what we like. The LP Standard 2010 pictured above is something very alluring to me (especially the pickup combo) but there are technological advancements in there which do not make it a better sounding instrument (better working- may be...).

Must say that it looks awesome though.
What things don't make it sound as good?

it's not about sounding as good- does the robot technology there contribute to tone? we know the Les Pauls of today don't sound like it's predecessors due to its construction philosophy & the sum of all other refinements. the company is busy equipping its instruments with such technical add-ons while not quite keeping in mind what makes the guitar likable in the first place.
