Ibanez had a simplified S-series version before the popular SZ model kicked in: the S-Classic (SC) models. The S-series make was given a 3-a-side headstock outline which still preserved the straight string pull & non-locking hardware. There was much talk recently about giving the S-series a fixed bridge/ non-locking unit which led to the development of the SynchroniZR bridge in the SV guitars. The primary consideration was the bridge's conformity to the S-model's curved top but much work could have been avoided if the SC's Short Stop II bridge was used. Wish the SC was back; it's a simple design which didn't compromise on the stunning looks.
