My daughter's unwell, I think she might have transferred the germs to me. So I looked like a quasi-zombie today, very lethargic with no reasons to smile.
It got worse after I found out the Ibanez TS9B (which is now available in the stores) is listing for $304.50...
It's a clear indication of inflation, my friends. Not too long ago, the TS9/ TS9DX listed for $250.00.

Inflation doesn't hit you 20% at a time dude, it's more like the store you visited is practising some shoddy pricing.
A quick check on zzounds.com here:
http://www.zzounds.com/item--IBATS9B
shows that it's only going for US$120.
maybe we are too quick to scream 'bloody rip off!' just by looking at the price itself... he he. but i did highlight 'listing' for a reason :-)
Yeap, list and sale price are different things.
But I must admit that I'm biased and:
1. The typical 20% discount off list still places this far above zzound's price.
2. A sudden jump in prices of 20% is just unacceptable.
Said company wanted to sell me the ebow for over $300 when I got it for $140 on ebay too ;)
This particular shop is always living in its own zone of inflation.
They can price their products as they deem fit. If we have other sources of procurement, then we are free to choose, yes?
Indeed they can, and yes I have. My first comment was made in response to your post about the 'clear sign of inflation', which you have indirectly conceded is untrue. That is all.
i noted Jap products seeing price hikes, not just for pedals. it was fair implication. it's also rather unfortunate for us here not to have some other distributors to refer to for price references to justify a real trend in product pricing.
have to thank you for the price link there- managed to talk through some discounts after citing that amount but nothing magnanimous to rival an online blowout tag (if there is any, the TS9B is a very new product) :-)
Might be exchange rate related? Anyway, good to know you got discounts, that's at least more reasonable that I've come to expect from said company.
they are generally ok, they tend to list their products rather excessively, much to external criticisms but at the end of it all, majority of the prices pivot about the market standard.
