My latest ESP is the Horizon FR-II. Yes, it's another black guitar but I've chose this particular one because it clicks very well with me. The tone & playbility is outstanding. That's an ebony fretboard there.
The brand name & series are clearly stated at the headstock. This is my first ESP sporting this pointy version.
The dual cutaway is well-beveled as clearly seen here. Pickups:
- Neck: Seymour Duncan '59
- Bridge: JB Trembucker
The upper fret access is a breeze with this block-free neck-body joint. Also, the rib-cage chamfer is one of the most generous I've come across; it's almost touching the rear cavity area.
I'm very happy with this guitar, it's worth every cent of the asking price namely because it has all the features I want from an ESP. If you intend to own an ESP this is the time to grab one as there will be a price revision come April, latest.

drooling continues. uber awesome axe bro !
just by looking at the pictures, i also think it's worth every cent you paid for it, though i don't know how much is that
snap a pic of it back-to-back with horizon-III, the one that sports a leaf/tongue headstock
How much u broght that ESP???
Wah piam, steady lah. Damn nice!
nice, simple, & sexy...
p/s: thanx for the info bout kedai gitar kat singapore.. aku dah p lawat ari tu....
it's a superb guitar- there were 2 in the store, i chose this one. the natural finish version... well, it didn't click with me :-)
i'm having the neck Duncan '59 replaced soon. i already have the JB/'59 combo in the Phoenix II so trying something different this time round.
the Horizon FR-II lists for $1,950. come April, there won't be any ESP guitars which are sub-$2K so if you are planning to grab one, do it while the good price still applies.
dahsyat... ni yang ke 50?
Very nice bro!
LG
had 50, sold 2 away, bought this 1. so no 49 :-)
Salute you bro....told my wife you had 49 and I only 11....so i have another 38 to go!!!! Awesome guitar.
he he... some of our spouses are not agreeable in seeing the number of our guitars increase.
Wow, 49 guitars!? U need a hotline to treat this addiction
50, then 48, now 49... coming back to 50 soon...
Hi Sub,
How does it compare to the ESP Phoenix II? I'm thinking of getting either. But I don't really need a floyd, however the quilt top appeal to me.
a different playing experience. i can pull off some classic rock tones from the phoenix rather well, the HFR-II has a more contemporary overtones in store. there's also the subject of the picking hand placement as both guitars feature different bridges. i won't say one would out-perform the other but they are different guitars.
