Bridge of sighs (yes, that one)

This is the highlight of the moment, the star player for Ibanez at Namm 2017, if you will- Ibanez's Premium RG6. I have nothing against this guitar.

In fact, I feel they did a good job in reinforcing the neck & moved away from the maple dominance.

I'm wondering why the bridge in this gorgeous piece has to be the EZ-II. If they had given this some considerations & maybe include an Edge at the very least, it would have been a winner with me. The manufacturer might be keeping costs down this way or letting it get away in a gorgeous looking guitar. Subconsciously, you'd be paying good money (that's right, this series isn't gonna be on the lighter side of the price bracket despite not being a Japanese model) for something with a less favourable feature which would be largely ignored or 'accepted'. If there's a fixed bridge variant in time to come, maybe I'd consider. 

Ibanez 2014: EZII in S-series

Ibanez S520, not a new model but for 2014, note the bridge in there- it's the Edge Zero II. Once again, this is not an implication of a lower standard but the S-models (particularly all Standard models) were equipped with the ZR bridge in previous years so this signals yet another end to some things we had been fond of. OK at least it's affecting me- I have a certain liking for the ZR bridge.

The different argument

I don't like to argue. Not me. Especially with someone in cyberspace. I don't know you that well to dismiss you for who you are. More so when you are a faceless entity out there... Please, the internet could do better than be a bickering platform. It should bring people closer to be friends, not otherwise.

Enough of that, let's get straight to the point. I was talking about the RG350 (above), which in my opinion is among the most affordable dual action whammy equipped Ibanez RG model out there as it sports a respectable (Edge Zero II) bridge.

But the individual at the other end of the conversation tersely disagreed & cited the RG350 as one of the most forgettable players in its range as it has a lemon bridge in there. But I insisted the RG350 to be otherwise so the debate continued for quite a bit, getting into the mechanics of things- it got a little fanatical until I re-checked the records only to realize that, unlike us lucky dweebs here, some people further away from us are still receiving an RG350 with an Edge III bridge. So that settled it.

And what the heck was I doing fending off criticism for a brand name which has no formal associations with me? AAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHH...!!

Ibanez (Standard) 2011

If you are waiting for the new Standard RGs featuring the EZII bridges, they are now in stock at both SV Guitars & Swee Lee. Good news to those of you who are rather particular with an Ibanez neck- the new Wizard III profile feels slimmer than the former Wizard II. However, not all of us are comfortable with thin necks, you go try them out & decide.

Also in store are the 24-fretted S-series. I managed to try the S570 today, somehow, the INF pickups in there sound more acceptable this time round.

What? No price updates? Oh, gee... you can refer/ call the stores to find that out, yes? *SIGH*
