Neon

The Grassroots G-Mirage-WK/M Neon models are now available at Davis GMC (List: $690). Didn't manage to plug in as I was in a hurry but managed to handle one. First impressions - well-constructed, good set-up & feel out of the box (yes, these were freshly unpacked today). This should give the Ibanez GIO / Standard models a run for the money as they are in the same price bracket & appealing to the same segment of players; those in need of a reliable, affordable alternative to their primary instruments.

Neon return

This is the latest by the Gibson camp but it's from the Custom range which isn't too pocket-friendly for many of us. The company has decided to offer LPs in neon colours which was hype in the 1980s. If you clicked with what happened then, it might click now for nostalgia's sake. Names like Ibanez, Jackson & BC Rich, among others, were there & done with this colour scheme.

A gentle reminder that there's no wood at crucial areas of the instrument- nothing wrong if you find this acceptable.

DR Neon strings are here (@ Davis GMC). They cost as much as the colour coated strings- $18 per pack. Brother Ijau, if you are reading this, the GREEN packet is on the way to you...

If being seen is your concern, especially in dark performance venues (not to mention being forgotten as the highlight had always been your vocalist...), DR's new NEON string range might help.

It's not available here yet, I'm awaiting its debut rather eagerly- attention seeking, eh? Not quite. It's the technological revision which attracts me. The manufacturer promises improved durability (9x more lasting) compared to its current coated set (I'm using them in a few of my guitars).
