Pedal power

This is one of those things people warned you not to purchase - a novelty pedal. I disagree. It's meeting my objective of having a simple, no-frills, power section to hook your pedals to. The entire set-up & more insights would come soon. Suffice to say that it won't level up against any small, low wattage tube amp. The guitar-solid state chemistry is a total departure from what you'd hear coming from your 'real' amp, For those on the go, it would just prove to be a crucial standby unit when all else fails.

Pedal power

This isn't the first by EHX. The 44 Magnum & 22 Caliber were ahead of the 5mm. There are many people out there who put less faith in solid state power when it comes to amps but this isn't about pitting tube finesse against the also rans. EHX is giving the players an option in the name of convenience. Watch this to understand why the 5mm might work for you:

ISP's new Stealth Ultra Lite power amp adds to the list of portable power amp for those of us who would like a simple, speaker-focused set up. This should give Seymour Duncan's Power Stage a some competition in terms of price & mobility considerations. 

Mini explosion

If you are wondering why Mooer made a pedal without an on/off switch then this little ditty isn't a pedal- it's a power amp. That's right, in a mini pedal format. 30W of power in this mini enclosure 👍 With a name like that, good luck in getting this past customs.

Power Duncans

This is a darn smart move by Seymour Duncan. At a time when everyone else is running the effects trail, SD moves away & does a power amp.

They even offer it in a rack format.

These are aimed at the effects geek who doesn't need a boutique amp to get things going, just an above average power amp unit to plug in, let's say, an AXE FX unit which already contain a lethal arsenal of tone modules. It then leaves them some funds to invest in desirable speaker cabs. 👌🏽

ADA pre-amp

I was at Beez's recently, he introduced me to his 'new' amp which are actually used units of ADA & Samson pre-amp & power amp respectively. The tones to be heard from this pairing are some of the best in guitardom; you'd then understand why professionals prefer this set up which was rampant in the '80s, as well as the preferred recording amplification in pro studios.
