Jones' Bees

This one had been touted as a 'much anticipated' instrument by cult followers. So the Epiphone Adam Jones LP made its debut a few days ago. It's fair to say the guitar per se is nothing special, it aimed to replicate the Gibson goodness (whatever that means).

The hidden draw is the feature art located at the rear of the body & it will be different every time a new one is released. That's right, there will be six more to come & the collectibility of it all means some of us are bent on buying all seven of these; same guitar, different artwork. I'm neither a keen LP fan nor an Adam Jones follower so these are novelty purchases to me.

Standard Jones

Some guitar websites out there dubbed this new Adam Jones LP Standard as a 'much anticipated' guitar. Not being a fan of signature series of any brand, I don't see the outright appeal of this one, maybe the fanboys out there might get turned on. I see the price of this one as the main draw - USD2,999. It costs as much as a Slash signature. More importantly, it's USD7K cheaper than its custom shop counterpart. That's right, don't talk about it too much, the Gibson distribution status here is still hazy.

Les Jones

Gibson finally released the Les Paul Adam Jones signature with quite a fanfare. There's a special video featuring a resurrected astronaut & a mutant zombie wasp traversing the ethereal forest giving life to this guitar. Regardless, the guitar in question features an interesting pair of pickups, the Seymour Duncan Custom DDJ & Gibson's own Custombucker installed in reverse. Be informed that the neck gets a relic treatment & worn out to the maple at most places.
