This is the 2012 Slayer model by LTD; I was thinking, can this one be rightfully called the 'Slayer' model since not the entire band plays an ESP/LTD instrument? What if BC Rich decides to commemorate another Slayer release- would that count? Hmm...

...they would definitely changed it to "kerry king" 2012 special instead of "slayer" :)
ei sub, can you comment on the playability of esp ltd Mseries vs Horizon series?
hi bro :-)
the M-Series represents ESP's greatness when it come to bolt-on construction. the necks on these models are largely satin-finished units; typical Strat/ RG feel.
the H-series are the M-series' non-bolt-on counterpart. these models are what neck-through construction is all about; great wholesome feel both in feel & tone. majority of the necks are finished units so it's the Gibson-esque camp here.
none of the models mentioned above would out-perform one another in terms of feel/tone/construction; each has its own goodness without treading the other's plus points. this is, in my opinion, ESP's smart variety offering while keeping desirability in tact.
i'm assessing the above in light of the ESP offerings, the LTD models do not segue too much from the parent brand name in terms of QC; these of course, would be the upper tier LTDs. we know the LTD name per se is an appeal to affordability but the manufacturer kept the quality in check. good for them, good for us :-)
So M-series only have bolt-ons ei?,. i like your ESP M-II,. but id go with the natural brown stained finish, like these here..
