I think we'd noticed that if a product is enjoying some degree of commercial success, variations of it would be manifested & people will buy the same thing in different guises. Les Pauls & Strats are easy references. Ibanez did likewise with its multi-tool. Among the new finishes offered - faux leather, faux carbon fibre & everyone's favourite colour - pink.
