Delonge Star

This had been gear news fodder for a while & it's finally unleashed to guitar-dom. The Tom Delonge Starcaster maintains the single pickup feature but did away with the original Fender Starcaster headstock. In its place, we have the big Strat-type, 70s design which in my opinion is a cool replacement. Colours are kept in the pastel family as opposed to the loud, solid options of the solid body counterparts.

Interestingly, it's made in Indonesia. Does Fender have an Indonesian factory? So this is hinting at the instrument's pedigree.

I watched a fellow reviewer on YT and it was mentioned that the Tom Delonge Starcaster is Made in Indonesia because that is the only plant that has the proper tooling to make the Starcaster models. A quick check on the classic vibe versions it’s noted that they are made in indonesia too. So we can confirm that it’s produced by the same factory (PT. Cortek?). Just hoping the price offered here is reasonable enough for potential buyers.

PS: Lucky i still have my Modern Player Starcaster in my stash.

Cort's Indonesian made Squier/Jackson serial number format normally starts with ICS/ICJ

maybe it's from a different factory for Fender?

Good catch,Bro Ijau. Maybe that’s a possibility too since the headstock says IDxx instead of ICS (indonesia cort squier). Anyways Sweetwater is retailing them for USD1.2k, Thomann retailing for 1.1k Euros. Hopefully SL will retail them for a mere 1.2k SGD?? (My gut feeling says wait long long)

I believe there are a good number of factories out there, well known or otherwise, that could easily do this one. Giving it to a factory with proper tools to do so should be read with a pinch of salt. Highly likely, Fender had made prior agreements with certain parties in Indonesia that might have been doing their stuff in the mean time. I'm actually not interested in who manufacture these instruments, just wanna see the standard of production considering the Strat version were very much hits & misses. Being a single pickup fan, I'm always interested in such guitars.
