I strongly urge fellow 7 string players to consider active pickups when you peddle lower notes for your music; these do wonders for single notes definition, especially so for detuned stuff.

imo, even with the emg's, it would still lack clarity on the low B as if im not mistaken it is only a 24.75 scale.

much clarity is not quite dictated by the scale length... active electronics offer immediate address to this situation, the amp & effects in use also play a part.
