What's the story, SL?

We noted, back in September 2021, Gibson products were withdrawn from sale at Swee Lee. There were no new Gibsons prior to that withdrawal. This went on till January 2022 when they were made available for sale again but no new stuff were listed, old stuff / leftovers with semi-deplorable Gibson prices. These were Henry J era Gibson stuff, still floating around begging to be cleared. Don't get me wrong folks, the newer, James C Gibsons were there for the taking but these were hot stuff. They didn't stay on for long. Prices were a better reflection of the new Gibson management & they were worth it.

Today, when I visited Swee Lee's homepage, this was one of the rolling banners at the store's front page. It gives us hope, really. Swee Lee telling us Gibson & Epiphone are once again the flagship products available in store. However, it's a little ironic that the list of products listed are still the old stuff... unless, of course, we're being prepped to view the new stuff when they're finally made available. In any case, I'm not affiliated to the store & have no idea what's about to unfold when it comes to Gibson & Epiphone. Just seeing this banner today made me optimistic albeit a little wee bit. On that note, hoping to see new Kramer stuff along the way.

Hello, March... 👋

Gibson cut off SL because Meng Ru Kuok owns controlling interest in Heritage guitars and Gibson has been trying to drive them out of the market for years now. There's a lawsuit pending from heritage against Gibson. It's been talked about on the Heritage Guitar Owners forum. http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/topic/36042-what-happened-to-the-gibson-lawsuit/

Correct. Hit them anywhere while we are at it kind of attitude. Gibson needs a distributor here otherwise they are missing it big time in this part of the world. The distributor here being the owner of Heritage as well is making things a little difficult.
