Simple melody (2)

The guitar in question (formerly mentioned here: CLICK) is a 2007 Gibson Melody Maker. It's a re-issue or an interpretation of the original 1960s version featuring a bridge single coil. The sunburst finish retained the original hue back then. It was in a very good condition for a 15 year old instrument, very slight buckle rash, tarnished tuners but not rusty & the frets looked unplayed. The fretboard was excessively dry so that was easily taken care of. The tricky bit was the missing wrap-over bridge. Yes, the guitar didn't come with one. I happened to have a spare Gibson wrap-over bridge with me which I intended to use for an Epiphone initially but the guitar was sold off. As fate would have it, the bridge went into this guitar instead. FYI, the original 1960s version was equipped with a plain, non-ridged version. In Gibson-speak, this version is referred to as the lightning bar / bolt version because the intonation ridges aligned themselves to resemble - you guessed it - lightning.

Darco 10s & the guitar was good to rock (& beyond).

To be concluded...
