I gave this up yesterday, bought a new one. Over time, these cutters will become mechanically inept like this one for instance. The mechanism holding this together is slowly giving way, the blades won't shut tight (hence the gap you see there). Consequence - it's inefficient when cutting thinner gauge strings. Also, the blade edges get jagged & makes cutting a little tricky.
