Watching it

This is definitely guitar-related 😁

I'm particular about strapping on light watches because that's my fretting hand as well. I have small hands & heavy watches (metal frames/ chassis, G-Shocks, etc.) are a definite no for me because it fatigued the hand rather quickly while playing. But come to think of it, I've been with light watches since 1990, way before constant guitar-ing took over my life. On that note, those of you who put on watches onto your picking hand, do not be offended if the salespeople at guitar stores request you remove it before testing their instruments for an obvious reason- it scratches the instrument's surface.

Cramped

A few days ago, my hand cramped up while playing the bass. Was it a case of no warm up before playing? That's not it; I was playing guitar for at least 30min before switching to bass. My take here is that my hand is simply not used to the extended scale of the bass; I'm more accustomed to the guitar. Someone also said that I'm playing the bass like a guitar, sometimes I just go too fast which might contribute to the painful experience. Oh, well...

Satch's fretting hand

The next time you watch Satch play, pay attention to his fretting hand. Joe Satriani has this peculiarity of assigning his index finger as a 'muter/ dampener', choosing to lay it across the neck to filter unnecessary noises instead of using it as a primary preference for fretting individual notes.
