What do we know Marty Friedman for? His technical prowess? Marty Friedman can pull it all off, yes, he is that able a player but he does not propel himself as such an individual. I remember Marty for his very melodic phrasings. He incorporates very memorable licks into his tunes, there are not many shredder icons whose tunes we can whistle to, are there? Listen to Dragon Mistress & you'd understand.
Every time I think of Marty Friedman, I can't help but think of his Ibanez SZ singlecut proto which wasn't released- this would have been one, very desirable guitar... *sigh*
