This replacement was inevitable; the default blank bolt plate was replaced by the 'F' engraved version. This was a risky move as the latter is American. Usually such parts won't fit into a Japanese dimension. No idea if this was a conspiracy to prevent cross-fittings but there was no misalignment whatsoever as seen above.

very nice blog!
can i suggest you show more posts per page? with the amount of info you have it becomes annoying to switch pages each time.
and it also would be nice if you can add the tag menu to the layout...
just a couple of suggestions.
cheers
will work on that :-)
it's probably just a move to make production easier. who knows, that jaguar might just share parts with some tokais or ibanezes.
the conspiracy theorists suggested that Japanese & American models differ (slightly) in terms of measurements so that parts won't be inter-changeable.
Hey nice blog! Anyways, I'm wondering how much will a PRS custom 24 will cost there in singapore? Since i'm from Brunei its hard for me to know any prices from davis. Does it cost below $5000?
you can e-mail Davis GMC for price/ stock queries. when i bought my McCarty model, it was still in the SGD3.5K range...
What a dumb conspiracy theory. The difference is due to the fact that a lot of tooling in the US is still based on the Imperial system of measurement, as opposed to the metric system commonly found in the rest of the world.
i thought so too... they're both FENDER anyway, excluding either make won't bring in the $$$... he he.
Can I know Davis GMC's email? Thanks for your time!!
there's a Davis GMC logo here @ the left column, click it & it'll bring you to their homepage- the details are there :-)
