Kramer: Striker S-424... reprise

If you see a guitar bearing this Kramer decal, then be informed that it belongs to the pre-2010 generation. Having seen the current camp of Kramers, decal-wise, I prefer this 3-D version.

This is the rear of my Kramer Striker S-424; there's not much beveling going on but it's designed to incorporate some rounded edges ala Fender's Strat so comfort is assured.

Many Kramer guitars incorporate a coil-split switch & this was included here, it's also the instrument's tone knob.

Billy the bug gave my new set of Tesla pickups a thumbs-up (but I couldn't see his thumbs, though...) before heading home. So my Kramer Striker S-424 now sports the following pickups:

• Neck: Plasma 7
• Mid: Plasma 1
• Bridge: Plasma 7

Bad

Howdy folks. I'm still bringing you closer to my Kramer Striker not because it's the ultimate guitar you should own, in fact, it's discontinued (hence the older KRAMER decal on the headstock) but I'm bringing you closer to the flaw that got away. I clearly saw the chips around the middle pickup cavity edges as indicated, before I paid for it.

It became more disturbing once I saw the drastic tilt as seen here, implying there's something seriously amiss.

True enough, the problem is seen clearly here- a broken base-plate. This was the reason why there was a pronounced tilt; the broken end couldn't be lowered but the chips at the cavity edges suggested that a klutz at the factory forced it down repeatedly upon experiencing this anomaly. We'd be wondering why such a QC lapse got away & the reject-grade product made it to the shelves for sale. 

I bought this guitar because I knew those pickups meant nothing to me. In fact, by the time you read this, they are gone...

OK, it's one of those sleepless nights, I've just returned home from a quick jog despite being past midnight with the high probability of bumping into supernatural beings in the midst of it all. 

The Kramer Striker S-424 you see above was an acquisition from the Swee Lee sale which happened 2 days ago. Will share with you chaps the imperfections of this guitar at another time, really need a shower now. G'night to all...
