LP Studio ver 2012

I'm a little behind whn it comes to all things LP, not a fan of the guitar but I'm not ignoring them entirely. Gibson is one of the most respectable brand names when it comes to guitar manufacture, it's only a question of preference- are the guitars to your liking?

The above picture was taken from Gibson's homepage, it shows the current chamber allocations for the LP Studio, I'm kinda happy they kept the body's central portion more solid, unlike the Epiphone Ultra version:

Ultra semi

Hi there Ultra geeks. Yes, you who are in love with the Epiphone Les Paul Ultra (regardless of its manifestations). But be informed that the 'Ultra' there isn't exclusive any more. The manufacturer has now deemed it a transferable technology, hence the Ultra 339 you see above. It sports the same set of Ultra electronics- NanoMag pickup/ rear body controls/ output jacks, the works. So now we have another Ultra family member, not just the Les Paul.

Of Beck, Stratocaster & Duncan

We all know Jeff Beck, if you don't, you're most probably new to the electric guitar...

Fender made him a signature Stratocaster in the '90s but he declined putting his name on the instrument, according to him, he's not worthy of such an attribute (oh, goodness!!). However, the guitar continued its existence & was known as the Stratocaster Ultra (pic above).

Even his signature Seymour Duncan pickup was renamed 'JB' instead of spelling out his full name. Some people just want to be left alone...
