Ibanez: RG920M

One other note-worthy Ibanez making its debut at Swee Lee is the RG920M. Maple fretboard- that's right + a couple of DiMarzio IBZ humbuckers. A fancy model? Not really, just a fancy quilted maple top for some eye candy. At test time, prices are not available yet but it should exceed $1K, just by a tad, that'd be my guess.

Bro, I am just thinking of picking this up. Have you tried it? And if you have, what's your opinion of it? Thanks man!

Bro- been a while :-) it's an above average player but those default humbuckers + maple fretboard combo is making this guitar sound extra bright. IMO, it needs bass reinforcement.

Hey bro, yeah been a while. :-) You're right...I tried it the other day and it is quite bright. I'm trying to decide if I should get it, then change the pups. Or tryout the RG3XXV axe in red. Looks sweet. Heh. Or maybe try out a Jackson which I've never done before.

The 3xxv is just another Ibanez with DiMarzios, nothing really special unless you are excessively yearning to own the defunct rg565. But the neck is 'wrong' :-) Bro, check out the US/jap Charvels- you might like them.

Exactly what I am thinking. But I know nuts abt Jacksons, man. Saw a nice Dinky for sale on Soft for just above $600. Hmmm...

Charvels, bro... not Jackson :-)
