Danhage

Disclaimer - I'm neither a fan of the relic treatment nor a signature offering. These are simply not my thing, more often than not, adding costs to the instrument's list price. What you see here is Charvel's Henrik Danhage signature model, made in Mexico & it'll set you back $2,299 (Swee Lee) if you decide to get one. Since I'm not a fan, why do I bother, really? Two reasons: 1) It sounds good 2) One of the very few guitars to feature pickups from two brand names & it works brilliantly (Duncan JB + DiMarzio Area 67).

Personally, I would be hesitant to own a Mex Charvel that exceeds $2K in this iteration. At this price point, it's competing against the following guitars which are equally impressive in terms of tone, playability & value for money - all under $2K each (list is not exhaustive):
  • Charvel: Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 1 HH (Floyd Rose) - $1,399
  • Fender: Player Series HSS Floyd Rose ($1,159)
  • LTD: Deluxe Mirage '87 ($1,450)
  • EVH: Woflgang Special ($1,499)

In any case, do spend some time knowing what this guitar has in store from the endorser himself:

For $2k, there are some great used Kiesels as well ;)
