Epiphone 2020: Heads up!

It's confirmed, folks. Epiphone 2020 instruments will feature a revised headstock outline which will be announced during Winter '20 NAMM. The catch is, it's not gonna be an entire sweep of revisions, it begins with the Inspired by Gibson collection. The two LPs  seen here are part of that collection that includes the following:
  • LP Jr
  • LP Special
  • SG Special
  • LP Standard 50s
  • LP Standard 60s
  • SG Standard
  • 61 SG Standard (Maestro vibrato unit)
Smart move in terms of sales transition. If you are the manufacturer, you do not wish to have unsold pre-revision models making the numbers because rather obviously, players are gonna go for the newer models. From the initial snapshots, the revised outline looks very appealing & not an outright cascading of the extended dovetail design per se (Think: Epiphone Casino). I might just grab one for novelty's sake & I have a feeling many of us are gonna do likewise considering the fact that prices would remain affordable.

On that note, smart distributors (there are indeed stubborn ones sticking to their game plans that do not reflect the international market trends) should make plans to clear the pre-revision models for good prices & that's where buyers are winners. This would mean, those in the limited purchasing power camp would save a little harder to get their dream Epiphone since it's gonna be more affordable than before. Are sellers losers, in this case? Chances are, they are gonna win back those discounts through the new models especially when prices are currently revised upwards in view of the limited edition vibe from the Inspired by slant which do not feature entry level models.

OK, whatever. What do I know about guitars & sales figures anyway, yes? 😛
