Strings: K Garage

I came across this Chinese string set (K Garage Strings- heard of 'em?) with a rather eye-catching graphic, it's the cheapest in town: $3.80 but the most intriguing part of the packaging are the individual string envelope labels- if you are illiterate, those fingers would tell you what they are.

Saw them at Tymusic. Was a little curious about it but not really sure about reliability. Funky packaging though, heh.

Hey, how's the strings? Saw them too, but was skeptical.

bro Liberator: thank you for dropping by; one of the misgivings i had when i started blogging was that the accounts here might be too personal for others to relate to, but i guess if we have something in common, there should not be such anxiety...

K Garage strings: i currently have it in my Fender ST72, the rigidity falls in between a D'Addario & the DR brand names. they feel very crisp when freshly installed which induced me to play more. durability matters still to come...

thanks for reading everyone :-)

i regretted gettin' the strings...they sound really horrid, especially when playin' with gain

i can't relate to the above comment as my experiences with strings are such that they do not inherently emanate vibrations which would dictate tone; Gibson strings sound as similar as SIT strings under tremendous gain/ drive, even in clean mode. the more pertinent issues to me, which would very much dictate my purchase, would be that of feel & durability.

Exactly, i never thought strings would have such an impact on tone...i've used several brands...DRs, D'Addarios, Ernie Balls, Elixirs, Electro-Harmonix...to name a few, the main difference for me is how long they lasted...there was only subtle differences in regards to tone & feel..

Maybe its more obvious on certain guitars...i put the kGarage on my strat, i always relish the feel of new strings on my strat(more so than my other guitars)

The KGarage strings just sounded dead on my strat...i put it back in the guitarcase after 10mins..feelin' pretty disgusted..

i tried to love it (i certainly love the price!), but just couldn't..

there are some things, no matter how hard you try, you just can't come to terms with :-)
