Ibanez: RG1670

This Ibanez RG1670MZ is currently only offered in Japan. The bare maple headstock & uncovered truss rod is not a norm for an RG make. That's a rather non-conventional finish there as well. Nice.

But currently, I'm too distracted by ESPs...

This is one beauty.
Maple board = rare
Fountain Blue = rare
Light Steel Blue = rare
Prestige + all above = perfection

Singapore market = disappointing...

halo sub...
i hope i could get your opinion in pickups..
i want to change my default bridge & neck pickup in my ibanez grx70. i play mostly songs from Metallica. which passive pickup would u recommend?

i feel dealers should strike a special deal with the manufacturers to provide us with unique offerings. majority of the dealers are not personal when it comes to provision; they just bring in the goods to sell. they don't know what's going on.

hi ashley :-)

which amp are you using? do you have a particular brand name pickup you wish to acquire?

the thing is, i'm using a practice amp for now. i planned to buy 30W amp after i graduated, since i wouldn't be able to use the amp in my campus (a friend of my mine bought Peavey 15W and the amp could not switch to dist mode as the power source is not enough).

I don't have any particular brand in mind... thought of buying emg 81 but it's active...

what is it about active pickups that you like?

do you have anyone's tone you appreciate & would like to emulate?

i don't have anything particular to like in active pickups, i prefer passive since i don't have to change batt in it..
i would love to get the sound of Metallica Kirk Hammett.. most of his esp guitar equipped with EMG 81/60 which is active... but then again, battery....

Sub,

The problem is, our local dealer (we know who...) doesn't seem to listen to what customers want, despite "leading" the local market for some decades.

Anyway, maybe BGWGuitars is able to bring in such. There's more hope there.
