SNARK- Pedal tuner

Had been using my new SNARK pedal tuner (SN 10) a lot lately. The SNARK name simply conjures this nifty & fast response reputation to mind. But I (sincerely) thought the clip-on version was faster but this isn't a second-rated performance- of course not. The display is just very bright, this is a spill-over reputation from the clip-on counterpart; it doesn't wimp out when it comes to notes display. The on-off button is also click-free so it's a silence performance if you intend to line it up for recording purposes. However, despite it's adorable dimensions, the pedal is not a light unit; it's slightly heavier than the KORG Pitch Black pedal I own.

This is how the pedal's innards look like for interested parties. The SN10 is available at Davis GMC, listing for $45.

Snark tuner: Ver. Red

OK, so I bought another Snark tuner, this time, the red version. What's the colour significance? It represents the different models with different on-board features. But first, let me address the query of which battery type powers this cutie. It's the tablet version as seen above, the cheapest of which (as sold at my neighbourhood budget store) is $0.70- yes, I did a little scouting.

The red version features an on board metronome but it's devoid of any 'beep' sound; it's the perfect silent ticker. The user is also given the option to set his/ her preferred BPM, I started with a 100bpm as seen above...

...retarding it to 40bpm much later while I was noodling with some doom riffs. The 'heart' you see there is the ticker indicator, it blinks according to the bpm set. Neat, huh? The absolutely best thing about Snark tuners is that they are all very affordable, they don't exceed $20...

Snark tuners are available at Davis GMC/ TYmusic.

Snark it!

The SNARK tuner is one little performer.

I've read rave reviews of it in countless guitar literature, online sources included so I've decided to get one, not costly this one: $15

Design-wise, it's not a state-of-the art affair, in fact, it looks rather toy-like & shoddy but let's remain practical here; we're in it for what it can do, not how it looks like. The main draw is the tuner's sensitivity, there's hardly any lag time between the picked note & response display, unlike other tuners which require a re-clipping elsewhere on the headstock to induce responsiveness should it failed to work initially. The colour display also holds its own in brighter surroundings, that's another plus for many of us. Highly recommended :-)
