Is the twinkled effect the bit where his right hand runs up n down the string but his left hand seems to vibrato on one note? It's the first time I hv seen anything like this.

the twinkler is actual the row of lights you see going on & off as the play goes on :-)

He was just doing some Artificial harmonics, and you can get different kind sounding harmonics as you move above the pickups. Try it out, fun stuff :)
