ESP: Horizon III

The guitar in that case, my darling, is dad's new ESP Horizon III.

This is it. I've always wanted an ESP model with that tongue-like headstock outline, a rather feeble excuse to own another ESP model which of course isn't my sound (forgive the pun) reason to bring this guitar home. The people at Davis GMC didn't put this model up for display until they have cleared a little breathing space in their much populated display window. It was black & blended in with the rest of the hibernating ESP guitars there but I made it a point to look out for that headstock every time I pass by. I had to try the Horizon III personally to qualify my belief it's a quality instrument, one worthy of investment regardless if I have any devotions to the Floyd Rose bridge there. The cutaways feature sumptuous beveling, inviting the player to venture further up the neck.

Together with the all-access through-neck heel, the Horizon III proves to be an unhindered playing experience. The only dissent I have for this guitar, albeit frivolous, is that it's black. This is my 8th black guitar, not an intentional finish preference but I am one to tolerate an unfavoured colour in acceptance of maximum playability & great tones.

PS: Thanks Janet, for enduring my extensive try-out; you somehow knew I find this guitar irresistible...

thanks for the accolades.

didn't go for looks, not one for visual attraction either. more importantly, this guitar plays really well + the JB/JAZZ combo is something i'm confortable with :-)

Yup its Thomas Youngblood's model..Why you did not choose an M2 instead?(if not for their looks)

if thomas youngblood had a signature series, this would be it (of course with some cool finishes just like his custom horizon)

I do believe its called the cockstock!

as at 14th April, Youngblood's main guitar is an ESP Eclipse but he uses other models for various tunings, one of them is a Horizon II. yes, he did play the Horizon III but it's not a signature model so it's not a 'Thomas Youngblood's model'...

i'm not am M-series fan, maybe because it's too popular, he he... my next ESP would be a Viper, not looking forward to any M model acquisition unless there's something appealing :-)

Yup !!the M series is rightly so to be very popular....there's reasons 4 it :-)
