Simplicity- bring it back...

The more I search & stumble upon such gems, the more depressed I get; wish I could travel back to 1993 to grab this wonderful instrument. Ibanez used to have the SF model which was an S-series with a Gibraltar II, tune-o-matic type bridge- we'd definitely appreciate this make today. If Paul Gilbert can convince the manufacturer that he's the shredder type who can live without a whammy bridge, surely, he isn't alone.

yes very odd indeed. for all the fixed bridged rgs they ahve made, there doesn't seem to be an s equivalent.

with any manufacturer, it's possible but the market swing pretty much dictates where the production would be.

if only they release a 24.75 scale s with 24 frets ala shawn lane

I was looking for one of these for over a year before I even found one for sale! It wasn't it great condition but after I fixed it up it plays beautifully! Honestly, it has become one of my favorite guitars now! I also have a red S470 from the same era with the same finish so they look like twins :) amazing guitars!
