Schecter's 40th

Last Sunday, Davis GMC alerted me to these 40th Anniversary models by Schecter, the C-1 (top) & Avenger (bottom) which were in store. The C-1 is a neck-through model while the Avenger is a set neck. The pickups you see there (OK, not so obvious) are covered USA Pasadena humbuckers which sounded very active; think of EMG's HZ model. These guitars are indeed deserving commemorative units with immaculate construction. They are satin finished from one end to the other, no glossed over parts whatsoever.

Hi, have you tried them out? How's the sound?
Did you also try the Banshee elite Cep that just came in?

Yes, I've tried them out, otherwise I won't be posting how they sound like :-)

Banshee Elite- was waiting for a fixed bridge Banshee to arrive here but this Elite version is not a bolt-on. Very shred-friendly neck.

Have you tried the bolt on?
Why would one choose the bolt on compared to the neck through of the elite pls?

The bolt-on Banshee is also available in store & I played that one a few times, didn't buy because of the Floyd Rose bridge which I'm not into in the mean time. A bolt-on model has more snap in single coil model compared to set-neck/ through body construction which I prefer.

Ah, I see. I prefer a fixed bridge and am also waiting for that version to arrive.
As the banshee has 2 humbuckers, would this 'snap' be heard when the split coil is activated via the push pull tone knob?
I hope the distributor Musictalk will bring it in.
Thanks for the chat.

Many people have reservations when it comes to single coil tones coming from a split humbucker- it's still a single coil in use. Given the right set up, it will sound very convincing if not similar to a stand alone single coil pickup. Actually, I've been waiting for the bolt-on, fixed bridge version for a while already. Slim chance, it seems...

Hmm, unless you order it from ebay:

I still wish the neck profile was thicker, like a strat.
Oh well.
